Pride Month 2012

San Antonio's Pride Month 2012 is an opportunity for all people to see a broad range of perspectives in the library’s collections and programs.

June 1 – 30 – Pride: Read OUT – Great Northwest Library, 9050 Wellwood and McCreless Library, 1023 Ada St. Pride month book display featuring authors, issues and materials relating to the LGBTI community.

June 7 – Pride: Come OUT – Tobin Library, 6:30pm – 8pm. A panel of local gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) community leaders tell their coming out story.

June 13 – Pride: Work OUT – Landa Library, 233 Bushnell, 6pm – 7:30pm. Panel discussion with small business owners and the challenges of doing business with the LGBTI community. Our speakers are members of the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

June 16 – Pride: Watch OUT – Cortez Library, 2803 Hunter Blvd, 2pm – 4pm. Movie about a transsexual punk rock girl from East Berlin tours the US with her rock band as she tells her life story and follows the ex-boyfriend/bandmate who stole her songs. LGBTI Audience.

June 20 – Pride: Watch OUT – Pan American Library, 1122 W. Pyron Ave, 5pm – 7:45pm. Screening of feature length movie. Check with the librarian for movie selection. LGBTI Audience.

June 20 – Pride: Act OUT – Westfall Library, 6111 Rosedale Ct., 6pm. Local performance artists from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) community share through spoken word, visual, and performance art.



PrideFest San Antonio is happening Saturday, June 9th, from 2pm – 10pm, at HemisFair Plaza. Free Festival to Celebrate Love and Diversity for all Ages and Pets to Attend

This year’s event promises to have a high flying, head banging, booty smackin, wise crackin fun filled show

Headliners include:
Yara Sofia of Ru Paul’s Drag Race
Direct from Las Vegas – Ginger Grant
Keynote speaker bringing awareness to bullying and transgender issues: Nationally known, Ms Nikki Araguz
Legendary Ladies: Erica Andrews, Tencha Le Hefa, Shady Lady
Musical Performances by The Shocking Thing, Mariachi Las Coronelas, and special performance by Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, Affirming Pentecostal Church

And many, many, MANY more amazing entertainers. Close to 100 vendors, and sponsors.

Make sure you join us by 7:30p as we will be going for the largest toast ever in the City of San Antonio.

Free Shuttle will be running non-stop all day from Pegasus and Silver Dollar to the park.



The San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce Breakfast is Wednesday, June 13th, 9am – 11am, at Luther’s Cafe on N. Main. Join the Chamber for breakfast and networking opportunities for LGBT business owners, professionals and allies. A breakfast buffet will be served with pancakes and all the fixings.
Hosted by Cavender Fiat & Luther’s Cafe.
Cavender will have a Fiat vehicle to showcase on-site.

Festival is happening at Crockett Park, the Krystal Kelly “Running of the Queens” High Heel Race is at 8:30PM, and the Parade is at 9PM, Featuring Grand Marshals Adam Bouska and San Antonio’s own 12-year old Gavynne Rodriguez-San Antonio: A No H8 City!



2012 Lesbian White Party

Come one Come All…This will be the Event for Women in San Antonio that everyone will be talking about. Plan on being part of this phenomenal party on Saturday, July 1st, at Kremlin, 212 College, on the Riverwalk. Must Wear White Attire. Doors open at 9pm. $10 Cover. Must be 21+.
