This Valentine’s Day we have much to celebrate. Within the past week, Washington became the seventh state to recognize the freedom to marry for all of its citizens. The New Jersey State Senate passed marriage equality legislation. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed that Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution.
The Ninth Circuit’s historic decision affirmed a simple, fundamental American truth: how we are born, and who we love, should not be a basis for discrimination in this country.
This is a landmark victory, but our fight is not over. The anti-marriage forces that passed Prop. 8 have vowed to fight this decision. They have one more week to either ask the Ninth Circuit for rehearing or ask for a stay of the decision while they try to take the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
As we celebrate today, we remain committed to ensuring that soon every American will have the freedom to marry the person they love.

How we are born and who we love should not be a basis for discrimination in ANY country!
I agree Daryl. American or non-American, everyone anywhere should have the freedom to marry the person they love.
