The old city centre is exciting and vibrant as you come to San Domingo Church facing San Domingo square. What is so special about this square other than the lovely outdoor cafes and famous Cartagena resturants? Well, the square is home to the sculpture Mujer Reclinada ("Reclining Woman"), a gift from the renowned Columbian artist Frenando Botero.
Adjacent to the square is the Modern Art Museum which has an array of art, some of which is displayed here (photos were not prohibited).
Now you have the rest of the story of the "Reclining Woman" plus a little hint of Cartagena.

I adore the hand in sand photo too and have enjoyed discovering & collecting a few antique door knockers over the years. They are fascinating pieces of history! Thank you for posing & solving the art question Mary. I was familiar with that reclining woman statue but drew a complete blank when you asked what, where, and by whom. *sobs. (that's a dastardly sign of getting old dangit) Wonderful post; thank you! :)
Is the hand a picture or a sculpture, Mary? Or is it a photo of a sculpture?

OH Jess for sure not a blow up doll but rather a huge cut out a artful figure in a museum. Now do you really think I would post something like a blow up doll :-)
